Bar Harbor Acadia Cottage Rentals, Inc. came about initially, over seven years ago, while I was renting out my own four vacation cottages. Friends and relatives who also had cottages available for weekly rentals contacted me to assist them. Since then my website has expanded to include nearly 100 cottages, all of which are owned by friends and relatives (and friends of friends!). I am now a full-time vacation rental agency. And happily so. I love working with people who are planning their summer vacations! One reason is that I truly believe this is the most beautiful place in this country to visit. My impartiality has nothing to do with the fact that I was born here, and my family was the second family to settle on Mount Desert Island in 1761, in Somesville. While it is my ancestral home, it's also a beautiful place to live and visit!

2011 brought some exciting changes to Bar Harbor/Acadia Cottage Rentals. My cousin Gail and brother Tom joined me in the business. Tom is assisting people with finding rental cottages, like me, and Gail is handling the administration and information packets. I know they are enjoying working with visitors as much as I am!

We know it can be difficult booking a vacation rental online. We'll try to be as honest and helpful as we can when describing the features of, and recommending, a cottage. Feel free to call us or email us with questions about any cottage, or about the area.
