Aerie Cottage

Aerie is a beautiful summer retreat situated high above Frenchman Bay and the rocky coast. It features stunning panoramic views of Mount Desert Island and the Skillings River. The cottage has 4 acres and 200 feet of impressive shore front and is sun-filled from morning till night. Every room looks out over the treetops to the ocean. A wonderful retreat in the wonderful village of Hancock Point (click here to read NY Times article, published July 12, 2002).

This spacious cottage (3000 sq. ft) was designed in the classic old-fashioned summer cottage design, with antique-style fixtures, walls and flooring. It has a large living/dining area and a smaller library with a fireplace. The three bedrooms sleep six in total (one queen and two twins bedrooms), and there is sleep sofa in the loft for two more. The master suite has its own entrance, dressing room, and private bath with a clawfoot tub and a separate shower with seat (and ocean view, of course). There are 3.5 bathrooms, in total. The cottage has satellite TV, internet, and full laundry facilities. Other highlights are the large 18’ x 18’ screened porch with hanging chairs and sunset views, a large (560 sq. ft) deck high above the water, a second story open roof deck, and private beach access just a stone’s throw from the cottage.

Please note, because the numerous balconies, permision for children under 10 is required. Maximum capacity for the cottage is 6 persons.

Enjoy days exploring the shore, sunbathing on the deck, and enjoying the splendid views.

This tranquil retreat is situated in one of the most popular vacation destinations in the country, in the delightful coastal community of Hancock Point, close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Hancock is a noted for world-class restaurants (The Crocker House, Le Domaine), a burgeoning artist community, and an eclectic mix of native and summer residents.
