George's Garden

Known for decades to locals and visitors, alike, as the beloved George's restaurant, the new owners have lovingly renovated and restored this gorgeous cottage back to a private residence. Spacious rooms, lovely garden views, a sweet gazebo for outdoor entertaining— George's Garden is a wonderful haven right in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. And it's just a 2 minute walk to the Shore Path, about a 1/2 mile walking path along the eastern shore of Bar Harbor. Created around 1880, the Shore Path provides the perfect morning or afternoon walk for those who want to enjoy the ocean and see the four Porcupine Islands, as well as the rocky granite shores and beautiful old mansions.

This 2-story, five bedroom cottage features one king bedroom and a twins bedroom on the first floor, as well as the living room, kitchen, dining and a bathroom with double sinks and double showers (it also has heated floors and heated towel rack!). The second floor features one queen bedroom, one king, one bedroom with two twins, and a full bathroom (tub and separate shower). The queen and king bedrooms have peek-a-boo views of the ocean!

The large kitchen is fully stocked with a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, cookware and diningware. There are 2 cable TVs, a stereo, DVD player, and high speed internet. A couple of the bedrooms have in-window A/C units. There is a gas BBQ grill, and outdoor dining for ten on the patio under the gazebo.

Other amenities include a washer/dryer, off street parking for up to 3 cars, and lovely landscaped gardens.

If you love being right in town, this is the ideal location. Walk to all the restaurants, shops, whale watch tours. You'll be just 4 minutes to Acadia National Park's Loop Road, where you'll enjoy hiking, biking, carriage road walks, beaching, bird watching, swimming and the most beautiful natural mountain and sea vistas in the U.S. in Acadia National Park. You can also kayak off the Sand Bar in Bar Harbor, just a few minutes away.
